Hey, J'r. Welcome to badbeginning. I was getting a little frustrated trying to get events (like Octoberfest) and groups (like Next 1,000) up in the forums, which are not really set up for what we want to do, and there's a very high signal to noise ratio with the mailer groups, so I figured out that a facebook style networking group would probably be best for those things.
